Beginning in February, we are resuming our popular programme of wine tasting events. Presenting an entertaining and informative evening of wine tasting and talk, each selection of wines will accompanied by a tailor-made menu. Each dinner will be hosted by a leading wine expert, often the wine-maker himself and will take you on a gastronomic journey exploring fine wines from world-class producers with the emphasis firmly on enjoyment!
February 23rd POGGIO ARGENTIERA from Tuscany £55.00 pp
GIANPAOLO PAGLIA will be presenting some of the fascinating and delicious wines he makes in this southern maritime outpost of Tuscany, a region already famous for so-called ‘Super Tuscans’ such as Tignanello & Sassicaia.
His Morellino di Scansano features on riverstation’s wine list, an eminently drinkable blend of the native sangiovese varietals, but there will be a chance to sample Gianpaolo’s more complex and elevated wines that reflect the true character of the Maremma.
A Tuscan-inspired 5 course menu, inluding canapés & cheese & petit fours, will be especially created by head chef Tom Green to complement these intriguing wines.
