Naming Ceremonies

What is a Naming Ceremony?

Naming Ceremonies are secular ceremonies that can be used to mark the birth of a child, affirm the addition of a new child into your family or to appoint adult ‘mentors’ who take on the role of traditional ‘god parents’. Naming ceremonies are an increasingly popular alternative to christenings and particularly appropriate where families are of mixed faith backgrounds or non-religious. These are usually marked by an informal gathering of family and friends and hosted by a specially trained celebrant.

Riverstation are licensed to host Naming Ceremonies and can help you organise every aspect of the occasion, suggesting ways to ensure it is a truly special and memorable event. Please contact our event co-ordinator Michele Jetzer for details on relax@riverstation.co.uk
