Whether you're a complete beginner or passionate connoisseur, riverstation wine tasting dinners are the perfect opportunity to broaden your horizons, deepen your knowledge and taste some fantastic new wines.

This year for the first time we are running a diverse programme of entertaining and informative evenings of wine tasting and talk accompanied by menus tailor-made to complement the wines to be presented. Each dinner will be hosted by a leading wine expert, sometimes the wine-maker himself and will take you on a gastronomic journey exploring fine wines from world-class producers with the emphasis firmly on enjoyment!

October 14th 'OLD WORLD' vs 'NEW WORLD' £65.00 pp

The comparison between 'Old World' wines and 'New World' wines is a controversial debate, often coloured by passion and prejudice. What does it really mean to be Old or New World and can you tell the difference? Using French regional wines as the basis for comparison, this dinner will compare 4 European wines with a range of equivalent New World varietals. To eliminate any preconceived ideas, the wines will be tasted blind, promising to be fascinating and surprising exercise! As always, four courses of sensational and seasonal dishes will be served, carefully matched to each pair of wines.

November 9th THELEMA VINYARDS, SOUTH AFRICA £65.00 pp

The wine industry in South Africa is continuously improving and among the most innovative of the New World wine producing countries.

Thelema vineyards are a relatively young company, yet regarded as one of South Africa's great estates with international recognition and an enviable reputation on the world wine scene. Production quantities are low and the quality is very high, with each variety expressing its own unique character

Thomas Webb the son of Gyles Webb - Thelema's founder and cellar master - will present a selection of superb wines accompanied by a contemporary menu designed to compliment these unique styles which have received so much international recognition.
